Leadership Training April 2026

Attending

Experience

Elder Judd, Becerra and Gilbert shook everyone’s hands at the beginning of the training. It made me think about how the Savior reaches “the one”.

My takeaways

“A man filled with the love of God is not content with blessing his family alone, but ranges through the whole world, anxious to bless the whole human race.” – Joseph Smith

Some thoughts I’d like to implement for myself

Elder Becerra taught about discipleship study, ordinances

Elder Gilbert

Do you teach truth with love?

  1. Avoid overly contentious settings
  2. Love others - find common ground first
  3. Be a light - stand for truth yourself; minister; point them back to Jesus Christ
  4. Hold to truth
  5. Stay anchored to Jesus Christ; stay where you are - at the tree (Sister Runia); live in your covenants

Second meeting with ward councils

Discipleship

  1. increased belonging - welcome, followup with everyone
  2. increase on focus on the sacrament - “We will now prepare to participate in the ordinance of the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper”.
  3. Increased joy - music (sing), smile
  4. Meetings Christ Centered - 2 Nephi 25:26
  5. Youth and Children - FSY counseling with them, come folow me daily @ home

Faith - perhaps before we worry about if we will have a sacrament meeting with Hallelujahs and Amens, maybe we can start with everyone singing the songs of the gospel

Elder Becerra - “For the LDS, every week is Holy Week”

As a presiding leader, always ensure the meeting has a witness of Christ

Involve youth to teach each other - youth will always get more out of it

D&C 58: 26-28, 107:

When God Looks down we all look about as capable

Get the youth to work?

None of us are good enough without Chrit’s grace

Elder Uchtdorf - “The what informs, the why transforms”

Apostolic blessing

How do we keep this training in our meetings, councils?
