What is most important for a bishop to convey to members in his ward? Would a testimony of the restored gospel be appropriate at this time? Maybe a discourse about how this church isn’t just a good way to live one’s life, but that there is power behind the restored gospel and without the ordinances of the restored gospel, we are lost? There were other things that I had thought about when I watched General Conference and pondered on Sunday as well.
- How do we stay pure in an increasingly stained world?
- I could share the message shared by President Dallin H. Oaks at the BYU devotional in February.
- I could talk about receiving the Holy Ghost
- I could talk about the temple
- I could talk about “slowing” or slowing down
- Be a goldfish
- Character of Christ
I like maybe a mix of the receiving the Holy Ghost and the purity topics. I would also love to hear a talk about the Character of Christ which would mimic a talk given in General Conference as well. Such a good topic. I felt strongest about the receiving the Holy Ghost topic so I’ll start there.
